About the event
Artistic Entries Requested
The Pittsford Community will celebrate Juneteenth on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Garen Peace Gardens and Shultz Community Center at Nazareth College. The event will a performance from Opera Soprano Kearstin Piper Brown performing the Ballad of Harriet Tubman. In addition, we are excited to announce our First Annual Art, Poetry and Essay Exhibit. We wish to inspire and uplift attendees though the creations and creative ideas of others. All submissions will be entered into prize drawings.
Theme, rules and deadlines:
Entries should be created with this year’s theme of “Moving Beyond Awareness” in mind. Expressions of community, hope, heart, understanding, etc are all welcome. Art, poems and essays display ready so that it can stand on an easel, placed on a table, or be hung on a wall. Please place creator’s name in the bottom right hand corner of the mat.
We have extended our collection to include the morning of the exhibition. If you would like to submit your work, please come to PITTSFORD COMMUNITY LIBRARY FISHER ROOM on Saturday, June 10th at 2:30 pm.
During the Pittsford Juneteenth event, family friendly art, poems and essays submissions will be on display in the Shultz Community Center at Nazareth College.
